4-Nitrophenyl b-D-cellopentaoside is an aldonic acid with a constant ratio of 4:3. It has been shown to have potential use as a substrate analogue for alpha amylase, which is the enzyme that hydrolyzes starch. This product also has a benzyl group and lactone form. 4-Nitrophenyl b-D-cellopentaoside can be used in the production of pancreatic enzymes, salivary enzymes, and methanol as well as gene products.
