a-Cyclodextrin sulfate sodium salt is an oligosaccharide that is used as a glycoconjugate. It has been shown to be effective in the synthesis of glycoproteins, which are proteins with carbohydrate chains attached to them. The oligosaccharide is synthesized from glucose and alpha-cyclodextrin and has been shown to have a fluorinated methyl group on the 6th carbon atom of the sugar ring. This modification increases its stability in acidic media and decreases its susceptibility to hydrolysis by amylases, enzymes that break down carbohydrates.
